MORE TEXAS WINES NEEDED IN LOCAL TEXAS RESTAURANTS
Wine Walk started a campaign last year to get more Texas wines in our local Restaurants. Papadaux’s Restaurants proudly serve Duchman Family Winery’s Trebbiano. This white wine pairs wonderfully with their Cajun Sea Food Dishes. I was dismayed when I ordered a bottle of Trebbiano ($28/bottle) that they were out. The Manager told me there was a run on this Texas wine over the last several days. It looks like the campaign to get more Texas wines into restaurants is starting to work. However, we need to push even harder so restaurants know that Texans want Texas Wines in our local restaurants. Please let those Restaurant Managers know you want Texas wines in their restaurants
Where else can you find Texas Wines in Restaurants? My fellow wine columnist, Jeff Cope with Texas Wine Lover, has established an App which will provide you information on a myriad of Texas Wineries along with Restaurants that serve Texas wines. He has spent thousands of hours in building this App and keeping it current. Why not give his App a try at www.TexasWineLove.com. I believe you will be pleased like me to find out a lot more about our Texas Wines.

These are just a few of restaurants which serve Texas wines. Please email me information on your favorite restaurants which serve Texas wines at [email protected]. I hope you will join me by encouraging restaurants to serve Texas wines. The best way to do this is to talk to the Restaurant Manager. If enough of we Texas wine lovers ask for Texas wines, they should listen to their customers. I talked with the General Manager at Truluck’s about getting some Texas wines on their huge wine list. He said I should have some Texas wines to choose from the next time I eat at Truluck’s.
Texas is blessed to have a highly acclaimed and responsive wine distributor making the rounds with Texas restaurants. The majority of Texas wineries which work through a distributor work with Republic Distributors with distribution facilities in nine Texas cities. As a result, Restaurant Managers should have easy access to Texas wines from most of the larger wineries (more than 10,000 cases of wine production per year). I hope you will work with me and other Texas consumers in helping to motivate Restaurant Managers to put Texas wines, especially more than one Texas wine type, on their Wine Lists. Let’s work together in getting our great, award-winning Texas wines in our local restaurants. It is time for our award-winning Texas wines finding their place on our local Restaurant Wine Lists. It is up to we Texas wine consumers to keep the momentum going by purchasing Texas wines in our Restaurants!
