TEXAS WINES EARN 338 MEDALS AT SAN FRANCISCO WINE COMPETITION
The prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition is limited to wines made in the USA. This year’s wine judging which occurred during the week of January 8, 2022 included 5,816 wines from almost 1,000 wineries including 53 from the State of Texas. Texas wineries earned 13 BEST OF CLASS, 17 Double Gold Medals, 56 Gold Medals, 180 Silver Medals, and 72 Bronze Medals for a total of 338 Medals. It is time for Texas’ Restaurants to realize that Texas makes some great wines to pair with your meals in Texas Restaurants. Texas Wineries and their wins are summarized in this article. With one exception in the BEST OF CLASS, the grapes were grown in Texas for those winning Texas wines. Texas is making some great strides in earning the recognition it deserves. It is time for our restaurants to recognize these great strides by showcasing Texas wines!
