Texas Hill Country Wines and Dogs
One of the wine adages that is so true is “Wine is best when shared with others.” Enjoying wines with other people seems to enhance the experiences. Dog owners enjoy sipping on vino with their best friends, but that does not mean giving your dog wine. That should never happen. However, there is something extra special about sipping on your favorite friend with “man’s best friend” by your side. There are many wineries which allow dogs on their premises, accompanying their owners. Many people literally have dogs as an integral part of their Family life. It makes sense for wineries in the Texas Hill Country to welcome both you and your “best friend” to their winery, especially during Texas wine month in October. There are forty-five wineries participating in the Texas Hill County Wine Passport for the month of October. Thirty-seven of those wineries are dog friendly and include:

These wineries welcome you and your “Best Friend” to come enjoy their wines during Texas Hill Country Wine Passport month. From October 1–31, passport holders can explore 45 unique Hill Country wineries at their own pace, enjoying complimentary tastings, exclusive discounts, and award-winning wines across the picturesque Texas Hill Country. It’s a fully self-guided tour, so guests can drink it all in for one day or all 31.
Passes are $85 individual / $120 couples with tickets available for purchase online at the Texas Hill Country Wine Trail website. In addition to visiting wineries in the Texas Hill Country, there are many options for dining on the patios of various restaurants with your “pup,” including Prometheus Pizza and Bottega Salaria in Fredericksburg.
