ORDER YOUR TEXAS WINES ONLINE FOR THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS
Our Texas weather is cooling down so it is safe to have your wines shipped to you directly from a Texas Winery. Texas experiences good wine shipping weather during the months of November, December, January, February, and March. If you want some special Thanksgiving and Christmas wines, NOW is the time to order to get your wines in time for Thanksgiving. Any leftover Thanksgiving bottles of wine can also be used for Christmas. Suggested Texas Wineries that are not available in local stores include:
• Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards has a wide array of wines from sweet to dry and bold, from still to sparkling. Check out their website at www.LosPinosRanchVineyards.com to choose your perfect match.
• Wedding Oak Winery (www.WeddingOakWinery.com) has several impressive wines to tease your Holiday palate. Their Roussanne will pair great with your Thanksgiving Bird.
• Kerrville Hills Winery (www.KerrvilleHillsWinery.com) makes some Platinum-Level Medal Wines which would be the perfect accompaniment to your Feast. I especially love their Semillon.
• Augusta Vin Winery has a bevy of beautiful wines to pair with your finest meal. Check out their website at www.AugustaVin.com for their wines.
• Blue Ostrich Winery and Vineyard have a flock of great wines to match your celebration. Check out their website at www.BlueOstrich.net for details.
• Kiepersol Winery near Texas is a 100% Estate-Grown Texas Winery owned by two sisters. We will be sipping on Barrel 33 in December. Check out this second-generation winery near Tyler at www.Kiepersol.com.
These are six Texas Wineries worth checking out that are not available locally on sale at the winery or online. Texas has nearly 700 wineries so these suggestions are a good start with space not available to make more suggestions. If you want to explore the multitudes of Texas Wineries online, go to www.TxWines.org and click on the tab WINES+VINEYARDS for a listing by region in Texas. You will be amazed at the variety of available Texas Wines that are available from Aglianico to Zinfandel, from sweet to dry, from still to sparkling, and so much more. There is a huge diversity of Texas wines to choose from.
When ordering these wines in quantities, you might check to see if the winemaker will sign your bottles. These bottle can help to make the meal special and provide a unique gift for your wine lovers. While you are ordering wines, get a variety and try to order at least a case of wine for discounts on the wines and on shipping. There is usually a shipping charge to help defray the cost for the packaging and delivery. If you order enough wines, you might even get FREE shipping, but that is not always the case. In your case or two, or three, make those distinctions when ordering what you will be pairing them with to get recommendations. I usually do my research online and then call the winery on a weekday during normal business hours to get their recommendations, get the best pricing, and perhaps even get a special recipe or two to cook up for a wonderful wine pairing experience. Your local foods are always much better when paired with great local Texas Wines made from 100% Texas grapes!
